"Bite Me"

This story was revealed to me at an IEP meeting at Hayes School where Cariyana is a student in a special ed classroom. Everyone always comments how cute she is. This is part of the reason why.

One day a week or so she is taken out of her classroom to work with the speech pathologist wither alone or in a group. A while back the speech pathologist was walking her 3 students down the long haul to her classroom. She says she always tries to make that walk "language rich". This particular day, they were walking in a line and the conversation went something like this...."Whose in front?"--Matthew!" they replied. Whose in back?" "Kristen!" they said. "Whose in the middle?" "Cariyana!" they say.

The speech pathologist then says "Today we have a Cariyana sandwich!"

Without skipping a beat Cariyana says "Bite me!"
