This day, here and now April 2011

Where are we, what are we doing...a quick review.
Nick...
He now 19, is finishing his Sophmore year at Augustana College. A fine young man, still trying to discover his life career. Dentistry and chiropractic still in the running for his wanted health career. He is working 3 hours a day at Rivermont Collegiate doing after school care for elementary age children 4 days per week. He seems to enjoy the antics and I guess home has prepared him for the role! He is looking forward to an upcoming Groom's Shower being given in his honor by his Uncles Chris and Kevin Grell.

Alexis...
Just had her 11th birthday at MyDesign, Inc., a beading and blending shoppe. Oh my! It was a big hit for her and her 6 girlfriends! Alexis loves playing the piano and I never have to ask her to practice. She goes to the piano often just to play! This week is the spring chorus concert--her last of the elementary era complete with a Daddy Daughter dance number. Oh the anticipation!

Charley...
Also age 11. He has just moved up to the ranks of Boy Scout! He has attended 2 campouts so far and is loving it! He is readying too for the spring chorus concert--a pirate theme! He is also practicing his music--Alto Sax, piano, and cello!

Xavier...
He is 8! Lots of first this year...1st Pinewood Derby Race is tomorrow evening. The car is ready and he is past ready! He will celebrate his First Communion in 2 weeks on Mothers Day Weekend. The boy is growing--arms and legs especially---new dress clothes will be a must with this new body! He has a Boyz Hip Hop Dance recital coming up. First all boys class!

Joe...
Joe is 5 and becoming so articulate. He practices his new found preschool knowledge daily--patterns, rhyming, all the beginnings for future success. He loves school. He has his very first loose tooth! "Mom, it's wiggly, will it hurt when it comes out?" He wanted us to be sure and remind the Easter Bunny how much he loves trains and wonders when we might take a ride on a subway train....I guess I will have to get to work on that!

Cariyana...
She has had an eventful spring at age 6 with a hospitalization and now the croup. She is surviving the nightly nasal trumpet insertions and keeping mom hopping with all kinds of follow-up doctor and multiple therapy apts. She finally seems ready for the Kindergarten Academics in the fall...yeah! She too loves school at Hayes.

Steve...
Keeps busy being the daily chauffeur for all the kids to lessons, scouts, dance, and so on. He has gotten the yard in shape with Nick's help in anticipation of a very busy early summer with bridal showers, the wedding, and out of town guests. Without early action it would all be in ruins by the time we are rested up to take care of things. He is anticipating a much needed addition to the garage as soon as the "rainy season" leaves us. It appears Steve will move once again to second shift. Still not enough seniority to maintain his day shift position at John Deere.

Karen...
Me? I am kept busy continually by trying to keep everyone organized, prepared, and ready for the next day of events. It's a job and I already have one! Thank goodness for Jerry and Joann's help! Its a busy life but I would not have it any other way! We are so blessed. I look forward to my time with my best of friends preserving my memories for myself and others in the years to come! I am looking ahead toward June when I will enroll in an online Photo Freedom course!
